As has been communicated, in order to follow guidelines set by our government, our physical doors are closed for service but our virtual doors are always open. While our governor has communicated there will be no penalty to churches who choose to gather despite crowd restrictions, the advisory is still in effect and we will still not be having church. Right now, there are a lot of things happening in our country and in the world. I want to start out by saying we cannot and should not walk in fear or panic as God has not given us the spirit of fear - but we must walk in wisdom. Our congregation has members of all ages and in order to keep their health and safety a top priority, it is better to be safe than sorry. We don't know much about the Coronavirus but with new measures being taken daily by our government, it is not enough to have our doors remain open - putting others and their loved ones at risk. As a result of the advisory to avoid gatherings of more than 10 people, the following is in effect for the rest of the week of March 14th.
*(Deacon Davis funeral arrangements) * Regarding the funeral of our beloved Deacon Davis, I have made the difficult decision that for everyone's safety, the family of Deacon Davis should be the only ones attending on Saturday March 21st 2020 (this does not include members of WWMBC who *have* to attend (ushers, choir members, etc.). By reducing the funeral to just family, this also reduces the number of people in the church although it will still be greater than 10. At the family's request, the funeral WILL BE live streamed so members will still be able to pay their respects and experience the service.
Members who do not feel and have not been sick are more than welcome to view Deacon Davis on Friday March 20th 2020 @ 3pm until 7pm and Saturday March 21st, 2020 @ 11am until 11:30am. After that, the family will come in to view and begin service. The church van will not be running.
Sunday Service: Finally, our church will be closed on Sunday the 22nd for service but the word of God will continue to be preached. I will record my sermon and post it on our website www.worldwidembc.org Sunday morning at 9 a.m. where it will be available to be watched via phone, tablet, computer anytime.
For further developments or any questions, please reach out to me. Be blessed and stay safe.
